Former Condé Nast editor and friend of Iconery Marlien Rentmeester founded her fashion blog LE CATCH to help stylish women find trending pieces that only look high-end. (Translation: discover an amazing outfit and have more cash to spend on fine jewelry!) As a native New Yorker, now a naturalized Angeleno, we love how Marlien bridges upper East Side glam with laid-back west coast vibes.
We asked Marlien about her style, her taste, and her thoughts on jewelry. Here’s what this self-made fashion mogul had to share…
THE DOSSIER: MARLIEN RENTMEESTER
My self described style is a mix of high and low, with vintage thrown in.
My favorite piece of jewelry is my Cartier Tank Americaine watch, given to me by my husband on our fifth wedding anniversary. It’s the blingiest piece of jewelry I own, and it always feels special when it’s on my wrist.
If I could only have one piece from Iconery, it would be something from Lena Wald. She designs the kind of simply elegant pieces I never want to take off.
If I had $500 burning a hole in my pocket, I’d buy a plane ticket to Carreyes, Mexico.
I wear jewelry because I’ve discovered the power of great jewelry and how it can define an outfit.
My everyday uniform is jeans, flats, and something unexpected.
The best style advice I’ve received is if you feel uncomfortable, you’ll look uncomfortable.
The best style advice I can give is don’t go too tight or too loose.
We asked Marlien which Iconery pieces she coveting, why she loves them and how she would wear it. (Styling tips from a pro? Yes, please!)

6. the Single Large Pearl Necklace by Victoria Six
“So simple and yet so impressive—right up my alley!”
7. the Diamond Lariat Necklace by Ariel Gordon
